About
5-Week Summer Course for Children & Teens (Ages 8–18) Taught live by Dwann B — Music Historian You ever wonder why Black music runs the world, but our kids barely get taught the truth about it? That’s what this class is for. In this 5-week summer program, we’re breaking down the music that built America — from the church to the charts. Each week, we focus on the legends and the instruments that shaped gospel, blues, jazz, soul, funk, and hip hop. This ain’t no watered-down music appreciation class — this is Black history through sound. We’re talking Mahalia to Aretha, Coltrane to B.B. King, James Brown to Kendrick. Kids will learn how these artists didn’t just entertain — they transformed culture. And they’ll see how the organ, guitar, trumpet, drums, and MPC became tools of expression, freedom, and identity. Each session includes live teaching, curated music, cultural storytelling, and creative homework. We close out with a virtual showcase where students present their own creation — a playlist, a rap, a drawing, or just what they learned. No pressure, just pride. 📘 MATERIALS INCLUDED Digital workbook (5 chapters) Spotify playlists Artist & Instrument Fact Sheets Glossary (vamp, loop, hook, bridge, break, sample) Digital certificate at completion
